Ocean Backpackers is a clean and homely hostel, which offers comfortable and spacious accommodation at great prices.

The hostel (built by a master boatmen in 1860) underwent an extensive renovation in 1999 to create an upmarket international hostel. The location is perfect. We are a minutes walk form Ilfracombe Harbour and the main bus station, which brings coaches form London Victoria, Heathrow and Birmingham is opposite the hostel.

Ilfracombe is surrounded by breathtaking coastline and wonderful walking country. It’s full of curious coastal charm and has an abundance of cafes, restaurants and friendly local pubs! Many guests return to Ocean Backpackers again and again. We welcome anyone of any age that enjoys the buzz of a backpackers and has a love of the great outdoors!

Breakfast Options

We have a large fully equipped self catering kitchen but if you fancy a full English we are a stones throw from 3 or 4 establishments that all offer fantastic breakfast's at very reasonable prices.

DISABILITIES

Whilst we endeavour to accommodate any person with a disability or special needs we are unfortunately not very suitable for wheelchairs due to the structure and design of the building. We do have a ground floor dormitory but a few steps must be negotiated to get to the lounge and kitchen area and the nearest toilet. Please do not hesitate to ring us if you would like to discuss whether we would be able to accommodate your needs.

What Our Visitors Say...

Great place to chill...and really thoughtful owners. Also all the shared dorms have ensuites. The location is right on the water and a 2 mins walk to the bus stop. Loved it!!!
